Job Description

Avant Tech is hiring a talented Mammography Technologist to join our exceptional healthcare team on a per diem basis. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammographic imaging to aid in the detection and diagnosis of breast diseases. You will work closely with patients and healthcare staff to provide compassionate and thorough imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct screening and diagnostic mammography procedures in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Prepare patients by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout the imaging process.
• Operate mammography equipment safely and maintain quality control records for imaging devices.
• Perform breast ultrasound and stereotactic biopsies as needed.
• Document patient information and imaging results accurately in the electronic health record systems.
• Coordinate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and optimize patient care.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure patient and staff safety.

Requirements

• Qualifications:
• Graduate of a formal radiology technology-training program in an AMA approved school.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography.
• Minimum of 3 year of experience in mammography is required.
• Strong knowledge of mammography techniques, positioning, and safety protocols.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse patient populations.
• Flexible availability to work on a per diem basis as needed.
• CRT Radiology License
• Requires proof of mammography
• Requires proof of having performed at least 200 mammography exams in the last 24 months
• Requires certificates of at least 15 CEU's in Mammography in the last 36-month period
• Requires proof of MQSA approved 8 hours each of Digital and 3D Tomosynthesis training.
• CRT Mammography License

• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with 3D breast imaging (tomosynthesis).
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding mammographic imaging.
• BLS Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification
