The Assistant Director of Resident Care is a leadership role within a memory care and assisted living community in Fallbrook, CA. This position is responsible for overseeing resident care operations, managing care staff, and performing limited licensed clinical duties. The role is healthcare-adjacent, not a skilled nursing environment, and focuses on supporting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality care delivery. Provides support to the Director of Resident Care in overseeing the supervision and training of caregivers and med- techs in the provision of personal services to residents in Independent, Assisted Living and Dementia/Alzheimer's disease care. The primary focus of this position will be management of the staff and residents in memory care.
This position is site-specific to Fallbrook and does not rotate between communities.
Support residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and eating
Perform limited licensed clinical tasks as required, including:
Monitoring blood pressure
Administering insulin injections
Checking blood glucose/diabetes levels
Assist in determining when residents require escalation to skilled nursing facilities
Ensure resident care aligns with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
Manage and supervise resident care staff
Create, maintain, and adjust staff schedules
Provide guidance, oversight, and day-to-day leadership to care teams
Support staffing stability during periods of transition or vacancy
Partner with on-site leadership and corporate HR
Participate in quarterly leadership meetings with Assistant Directors and Directors across communities
Maintain a consistent on-site presence at the Fallbrook community
Active LPN/LVN license (required; deal breaker)
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Experience in assisted living, memory care, or healthcare-adjacent environments
Demonstrated staff management or supervisory experience
Ability to balance people leadership with hands-on licensed responsibilities
Background in memory care or assisted living communities
Experience managing care staff schedules and day-to-day operations
Comfort working in a non-skilled nursing environment focused on resident support rather than acute medical care
Onsite role based exclusively in Fallbrook, CA
No rotating schedules between communities
Occasional offsite attendance for quarterly leadership meetings
Schedule aligned with community operations and staffing needs
