Job Description

Job Title: Reading Interventionist (Grades 4–8) – Hill Center Trained

Position Summary:

Falls Lake Academy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Reading Interventionist to support students in grades 4–8 . The ideal candidate is Hill Center–trained , student-centered, and has a strong desire to work directly with students to improve literacy skills, confidence, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted, small-group and one-on-one reading intervention using the Hill Center model.
  • Assess student reading needs and monitor progress regularly.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff to align interventions with classroom instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress effectively.
  • Foster positive, supportive relationships with students and families.
  • Support students’ academic growth while building confidence and motivation.

Qualifications:

  • Hill Center training highly preferred.
  • Experience working with upper elementary and/or middle school students preferred.
  • Strong understanding of literacy development and intervention strategies.
  • Strong desire to work with students and support diverse learning needs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Must hold a current North Carolina teaching license or be able to obtain licensure within one year of employment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for innovative teaching practices and student-centered learning.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.


Preferred:

  • Valid teaching certification/license. 
  • Demonstrated experience with project-based learning pedagogy and instructional design.
