Public Relations Assistant Account Executive – Consumer PR 

Location: The Consumer Lifestyle and Sports (CLS) Public Relations practice in the NY, NY office at FINN PARTNERS has an exciting job opening for a Public Relations Assistant Account Executive. We seek qualified current NYC metropolitan area residents for this direct hire, full-time, hourly position, where you will work a weekly hybrid schedule (work from home, and work in-office as needed which is typically 3 days per week). This Public Relations Assistant Account Executive role requires prior PR internship experience focused on consumer clients and brands. The CLS PR Practice at FINN Partners specializes in public relations strategies, media relations, influencer and affiliate programs for clients in sectors including consumer lifestyle, outdoor brands and recreation, consumer packaged goods, retail, wellness, and sports. We seek qualified applicants who have the hunger, hustle and enthusiasm to learn, passion for writing, eagerness to develop media relationships, appetite to infuse AI and modern media techniques into the everyday, and a willingness to assist in administering PR client accounts. Now that we’ve (hopefully) sold you on us, let’s talk more about this role:

Responsibilities:

• Crafts media lists; writes press releases and media pitches.
• Pitches journalists and secures coverage on multiple accounts.
• Manages the daily/weekly/monthly reporting for clients.
• Develops and maintains relationships with media contacts across all platforms.
• Joins client PR account calls.
• Learns best practices in Consumer PR client account management and earned media.
• Contributes fresh ideas for clients, the CLS team and new business opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing.
• Prior PR internship experience/entry level work experience in Public Relations (PR agency based prior Consumer PR Internships are highly preferred ).
• Working knowledge of all digital and social media platforms.
• Energetic, can-do attitude; works effectively in a team setting.
• Flexible and adaptable; works efficiently within a fast-paced PR environment.
• Excellent written and oral and communications skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Effective listening and problem-solving skills.
• Creative thinker who brings a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to the team.
• Organized; detail-oriented; manages schedule and tasks to produce deliverables by deadlines.
• Interest in client sectors of consumer lifestyle, consumer packaged goods, outdoor brands and recreation, retail, professional sports, or any combination of the above.
• Loves reading and consuming media; is social media savvy.
• Enjoy working in a fun, collaborative team, as well as working concurrently on individual PR projects/assignments.

Anticipated Salary: $24.00/hr.- $25.00/hr. for this full-time, non-exempt, direct hire position.  Commensurate with experience and dependent upon workplace.
