Job Title: Lab IT Support Specialist Remote Technical Support (Laboratory Instruments & Systems)

Overview:
We are seeking a Lab IT Support Specialist to provide remote technical support for laboratory instruments and their associated software systems in GMP/GLP-regulated environments. This role focuses on troubleshooting instrument hardware/software issues, assisting with instrument connectivity to lab networks, and supporting QC and Microbiology teams in ensuring system uptime and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first-line remote support for laboratory instruments, instrument control software, and related IT systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware/software issues, connectivity problems, and instrument-to-system communication errors.
Manage support cases in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, recording symptoms, investigation steps, resolutions, and escalation paths in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) .
Collaborate with Field Service Engineers and internal technical teams for complex issue resolution.
Maintain accurate records of instrument configurations, software versions, and network settings to aid in troubleshooting and compliance reporting.
Proactively collect and analyze system performance data for predictive maintenance and optimization.
Ensure all support activities align with GMP, ISO, and other applicable regulatory requirements .
Contribute feedback to product and process improvement initiatives.
Stay current with system updates, industry best practices, and company procedures through timely completion of required training.
Qualifications & Experience:
2+ years of IT or technical support experience in a laboratory environment (QC or Microbiology preferred).
Experience supporting software-controlled instruments such as LIMS, CDS (e.g., Empower), ELN, or other lab applications.
Familiarity with networking concepts, Microsoft Windows environments, and data management protocols ; SQL experience is a plus.
Strong understanding of GxP, GMP, and ISO compliance principles.
Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical and scientific documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong customer service orientation.
Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor s degree in a scientific, technical, or IT field preferred; equivalent technical training or military experience accepted.
Minimal travel required (occasional customer site visits).
