Job Description

This position is based out of Centertown, KY . We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic with experience to maintain and repair heavy equipment. Responsibility for troubleshooting issues and fixing them, aiming to maximum reliability and functionality.

Pay Type: Hourly

Pay Range: $27.97 - $30.25 dependent upon experience

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be experienced in troubleshooting and repair of equipment and large trucks or similar. Including but not limited to:

    • Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing components, parts, fluids etc.) aiming to functionality and longevity
    • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
    • Keep logs on work performed and issues corrected, with documented machine numbers and hours.
    • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

    Experience

    • Five plus (5) years of proven experience as Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic is preferred.
    • Proficient in Welding/Cutting
    • Valid certifications (e.g. Diesel and industrial Technology) is a definite plus
    • Valid Commercial CDL A preferred, CDL B

    Job Requirements

    • Must be 18 years of age
    • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
    • Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    • Reliable transportation
    • Regular and punctual attendance
    • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of Equipment/Vehicles.
    • Working knowledge of Equipment diagnostic systems and methods. (Cat ET, Cummins.)
    • Well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of equipment & vehicles
    • Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
    • Excellent physical condition
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
    • Good communication skills
    • Effective communication is required
    • Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
    • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
    • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
    • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

    Job Schedule and Physical Demands

    • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
    • Ability/willingness to work any shift assigned
    • Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
    • Ability to push/pull as needed
    • Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead and in tight places
    • Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
