About the Role

The Communications Director oversees Berean Baptist Church's comprehensive communication strategy. This leader guides all components of communications and marketing to add inspiration, motivation, and clarity to church messages while effectively leveraging digital communication, social and mobile technology channels. The role requires alignment with Berean's mission, vision, and values, establishing strategies essential for church growth, health, and development.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Brand Management

• Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies
• Ensure consistent experience across all communication touchpoints
• Create and maintain branding and style guidelines
• Standardize messaging across online, print, and in-person platforms
• Establish systems to organize and prioritize promotional items

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and motivate communications team
• Provide clear direction, feedback, and spiritual encouragement
• Foster collaborative relationships across ministry departments

Digital Presence Management

• Digital Presence Management
• Oversee website development, maintenance, and SEO initiatives
• Lead social media strategy and growth
• Implement innovative approaches to digital engagement

Creative Content Oversight

• Direct design of print and electronic media
• Oversee creative materials development
• Collaborate on worship media initiatives and in-service communications
• Develop promotional campaigns for services and events

Public Relations & Community Engagement

• Maintain active relationships with secular, denominational, and interfaith media
• Implement community visibility strategies
• Educate pastoral team and staff on communication processes
• Create strategies for member information and engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (communications or marketing preferred)

Experience:

• 3-5 years leading a team
• 3-5 years in Communications
• 3-5 years in Church Ministry

Skills & Knowledge:

• Expertise in print media, computer graphics, video, and web design
• Proficiency in Adobe products and Microsoft Suite
• Understanding of website management, SEO, and other digital marketing tools and best practices
• Strong project management and leadership capabilities
• Excellence in verbal and written communication

Personal Qualities:

• Strong, personal, and growing relationship with the Lord
• Gospel-centered mindset
• Agreement with Berean Baptist Statement of Faith
• Willingness to become a member of Berean Baptist Church
• Strong team leadership and collaborative skills
• Excellence in time management and problem-solving

Other Requirements:

• Ability to sit at a desk/computer for extended periods
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
