Corrections Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Travel Position Location: Youngstown, OH Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12s Rotating Pay: $1619.28/week Completion Bonus: Up to $5595 total. (You will receive $1865 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us) Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Health Services team within a correctional or institutional facility. The LPN is responsible for providing essential basic nursing duties, executing physician orders, and managing medication distribution and clinical supplies. This role requires clinical competence, strict adherence to security protocols, and meticulous documentation while working in a confined and occasionally antagonistic environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic nursing duties, execute physician orders, and perform technical/clinical procedures within the scope of the LPN license.
• Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document administration as required. Control and inventory medication, syringes, and other medical supplies securely.
• Attend sick call with the physician, preparing the examining room and equipment; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined.
• Document and report activities in accordance with established policies, including medical file documentation. Assist with preparing and maintaining operational records, reports, and logs.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed. Inspect the medical unit for potential contraband; securely store or safely dispose of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records. Escort inmates/residents for medical treatment and observe/record behavior.
• Facilitate NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation of the medical program where applicable.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Ohio.
• Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• COVID vaccine and recent TB test are required.
