Position Summary:The Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care within the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing practice. The RN utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to monitor, manage, and respond to patients requiring cardiac and hemodynamic observation. The RN collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes while maintaining professional standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver safe and effective nursing care to telemetry and medical-surgical patients.
Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize significant changes in patient condition.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on clinical needs and response to treatment.
Communicate promptly with physicians regarding diagnostic results, cardiac monitoring changes, and patient symptoms.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policy.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with infection control, patient privacy, and hospital safety standards.
Float to other units within demonstrated competency areas as assigned.
Current and valid RN License required
BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
Minimum 1 year of recent acute-care hospital experience required
Meditech EMR experience preferred
Type: Per Diem
Shift: Nights 12-hour shifts (start time 7:00 PM)
Schedule: Variable, based on departmental needs
