Job Description

Role description:

The Box Maker inspects and packs glass containers on the production lines, as well as reselects and replaces ware as needed. This involves general housekeeping duties to keep the area clean and orderly.

Compensation and Schedule:

The starting pay rate for this role is $24.23 per hour.  Any future increases are dictated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities:

  • In spect glass containers for defects and conformance to specifications

  • Inspect carto ns and interiors for damage

  • Pack acceptable ware into specified shipping containers

  • Report defects and malfunctions and discard defective ware

  • Unjam carton and ware conveyor system and other equipment

  • Reselect and repack ware into carton s

Minimum skills / qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Effective communication skills

  • Must be able to physically perform all related tasks associated with position

  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours

  • Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds

Preferred skills / qualifications: 

  • Forklift Operator License

  • Knowledge of inspection methods

  • Knowledge and usage of gauging and testing equipment
