Hudson & Co. stands on the waterfront, within the rapidly evolving Harborside district in Jersey City. The mammoth 12,000Sq.ft. / 300 seat Modern American Restaurant is embellished in the heart of the prestigious Plaza 10 office tower. While featuring multiple indoor and outdoor dining options, the entire establishment boasts unparalleled views of the Manhattan skyline across the historic Hudson River.

Job Overview:

The Barback plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant by maintaining the cleanliness and flow of the bar area. As a Barback, you will be responsible for bussing and resetting the bar, providing water service, and keeping the bar and service areas clean and organized. You will also help receive goods, assist with inventory management and preparation of materials. Your attention to detail and efficiency are essential in supporting the service team and creating a seamless and memorable guest experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area and the entire venue.
• Possesses general knowledge of all food and beverage menus, and company policies & procedures.
• Assist service team with beverage and food service
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of all back-of-house storage areas and refrigeration units according to company standards.
• Responsible for keeping all liquor displays and shelving organized and maintaining par levels
• Properly sets-up the bar stations, performs side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management
• Prepare necessary garnishes, syrups, juices, and/or batches
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as per business needs
• Complete all assigned side work as assigned by Management

Requirements:

• Passion for cocktails and understanding of different ingredients
• Previous experience in a similar role or hospitality environment
• Knowledge of menu and operations
• Great customer service, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment and ability to multi-task and work under pressure while still being detail oriented and personable
• Good organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail
• Ability to read, write and speak proficient English
• Must have open availability
• Ability to get a certified ABC card for Jersey City
