Job Description: Accounting Assistant

Position Overview: We are actively seeking candidates to fill the role of Accounting Assistant within the Accounting department of a well-known and prestigious engineering firm in Albuquerque. This is an immediate Temp to Hire opportunity.

As an Accounting Assistant team member, with minimal supervision, you will play a crucial role as a trusted partner, providing dependable and high-quality administrative support to the Company, the Accounting Manager, and team members with various administrative and account management activities

Key Responsibilities for the Accounting Assistant:

• Setting up engineering proposals and projects in the accounting system.

• Collaborating with team leaders on project invoicing.

• Updating and maintaining spreadsheets in Excel.

• Formatting and arranging documents in Microsoft Word.

• Handling basic bookkeeping tasks, including:

  • Contacting clients regarding collections.

  • Posting payments in accounting software.

  • Reconciling credit card statements.

Qualifications for the Accounting Assistant:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an assistant role with administrative and bookkeeping support responsibilities.

• Resourceful and capable of effective problem-solving.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Bookkeeping experience is preferred, or a willingness to learn new software and systems.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.

• Excellent telephone etiquette and verbal communication skills.

• Professional appearance and demeanor.

• Adaptable and able to manage change effectively.

Compensation for the Accounting Assistant:

• $21 per hour
